Hello...is this thing on?!

Okay, okay, I get it; if one has a blog, one should use it...so I will try to post more than once a month.

Well, it's Memorial Day weekend and I've decided to stay in town. While I normally jump at the chance to get out of LA for a long weekend, I've got a busy travel summer ahead starting in just a few weeks with a trip to Corpus Christi (any suggestions Tracey?). Yes, am fully aware I'm bonkers to go to TX in June. When it'll be 100 degrees at 9 a.m. In the shade. I've been so spoiled after living in Hawaii and LA that I'm sure when I step off the plane in CRP I'll beg to get back on...anywhere they're going has to be better than TX in June. Oh well, CRP has Captain Morgan's Rum, right? If so, I'll be just fine. :)

Besides enjoying LA with a few million of my closest friends out of town, I also plan on using the weekend to catch up with some old Navy friends. I made a promise to myself not to lose track of my more "mobile" (i.e. eternally deployed) friends and unfortunately while I was completing my degree and working full-time that's just what I did. Luckily, I've managed to track down Beckie, Peggy, Matt, Melissa, Johnny A. and Doc Grover. It's been great to catch up with all that's been going on in everyone's lives...y'all have been busy (or I've been stuck in traffic and need to catch up with the rest of you).
